About Me

When my full-time job in public accounting started taking too much time away from my family I knew I needed to make a change. I left public accounting to become Director of Finance at a nonprofit with nearly 400 employees. It allowed me to be home more often, but many evenings my brain would still be at work. I left my job to focus on my family while my children were young. Now that they are older and more independent, I have the availability and flexibility to do what I enjoy – accounting!

My husband and I bought an old farm in central Illinois in 2015 and our two kids are enjoying the country life. They have their favorite “dirt spots” and are learning how to care for chickens. When the weather is nice (and sometimes when it’s not) you can find us outside riding ATVs in the old pastures, picking blackberries, or attempting to grow vegetables in the garden.

I love popcorn (stove-top, not that microwave stuff), shrimp, and all things carbs. I’m a spreadsheet junkie and love learning new tricks and formulas in Excel. Most evenings and weekends you can find me relaxing while reading in my hammock or just listening to the trees blow in the wind and watching the sunset.

My knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, auditing, and taxes, combined with my experience with mom-and-pop shops, service-based business, large and small nonprofits, and local government units has prepared me to assist you. I know how important your time is, and that’s why I want to help. You can quit spending your precious time stumbling through QuickBooks, filing receipts, or reconciling statements and spend more time doing the things you enjoy with the people you love.

  • My experience with Redman Accounting Solutions has been excellent. We switched from another software to QuickBooks, and Katie made the transition very smooth. She helped me anytime I had a problem. She is very professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Redman Accounting Solutions. You won’t be disappointed.

  • Katie has adapted the QB program to meet accounting and government standards for townships. She will help at any level you need and is a very patient trainer. Her procedure manual has easy to follow steps, and it is nice to have the accounting aspect explained and IT help also. The township I work for chose to have previous 6 months data entered from previous program, which was a tremendous advantage

  • Our software guy passed away unexpectedly, and we were left wondering what we were going to do. Fortunately for us, someone who used to be our Auditor had branched out with a business of her own supporting QuickBooks for Township Government. Katie not only knows her stuff, but she is able to relay to the common person, who is not an Accountant, in a way you can understand. Katie is both patient and thorough!
